Greetings to the People of Wealdsmere!

 

Rejoice, Noble Folk, and know that this years Champions have been selected for the Barony.

 

Sir Guy Grimson was victorious in the Heavy Lists.  HL William Fletcher will return as Archery Champion.  Lady Sessidy is our new Arts and Sciences Champion and Lord Jonosh will be double dipping at the Champion Well as both Bardic and Rapier Champion.

 

Vivat to the victors as well as to all the participants!

 

Overall, I would deem the event a ringing success.  We had 243 people total show up, including day trippers, which should be sufficient for the Barony to break even or maybe even make a tad, we are still crunching the numbers.  A fine sense of camaraderie pervaded the site and many strong households raised their banners, their swords and their tankards.   A delegation of Artemisian warriors joined us and distinguished themselves on the War Field.  For those several whom illness or vehicular failure made it impossible to attend I am sorry, but there is always next time.

 

There are so many people to thank I will not even try for fear of forgetting someone who volunteered their time or expertise, you were truly Legion.

 

Obviously, a pall was cast by the grim news regarding Master Mischa.  In Honor of his Spirit and his Legacy, we resolved to carry on as he would have urged us to do.

 

Vivat to the Newcomers!  Her Excellency strung around 50 tokens for Newcomers and we almost got cleaned out!  That is tremendously good news for our area and I certainly hope they will come again and all who receive this letter will support them at every opportunity.  The Baroness and I are at their service with whatever assistance we can offer.

 

Grim Offensive – in two weeks – will see Sgt. Squire Olfus elevated to the Chivalry.  We certainly hope you will all consider joining us there for this joyous occasion.
