Greetings mi'lady and well met,

I am Arnora Grimsdottir, Herald for the shire just north of Wealdsmere, Grimwithshire. I have a set of armor that was my sons before he joined the Marines last summer. It is currently being used as loaner armor for new fighters and if it fits your husband is welcome to use it until he gets his own kit together. It has helm, sword, shield and all the other stuff, may need minor repairs or reinforcing but I'm sure it could be made serviceable easily.

Currently it is with our marshall, Sir Guy Grimsson, and if you are interested I can put you in touch with him.

I also may have some garb. Mostly T-Tunics but maybe a couple gowns and mens pants. My guys are very near to the sizes you describe.

I will be at Celtic Revolt, as I am handling the waterbearing for the Barony at this event.

I am also the autocrat for Grim Offensive IV and hope to see you there! (shameless commercial plug!)

Feel free to email me if you are interested, or call me at 233-8918.

Welcome!

THL Arnora Grimsdottir
Grimwithshire Pursuivant

Subject: [Twnsqr] Celtic Revolt and Garb

  Greetings,

This is a general request. I am looking to find a few things. My husband and I have been planning to come back to the SCA after about a 15 year hiatus, and I have been lurking on this distribution list for about six months.

We have (FINALLY!) started buying fabrics for garb to attend the Celtic Revolt at the end of May, and I am frantically trying to get garb both of us as well as our three littles.

Does anyone out there have used garb that they wish to sell? I have a 14 year old daughter, an 11 year old son, and a 9 year old daughter to clothe. The tallest of which is 5'6", and the shortest is just shy of 5'0".

Also, does anyone know of available loaner armor or used armor for sale? My husband is a trim 6'3" and hoping to get back into heavy fighting. Yes, we have yet to make it to a fighter practice, but my husband is reluctant to attend without the proper accoutrements.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions you may have.

  All the best,
Andrea (who has yet to develop a period name and debating the name Elaine)
