[Twnsqr] Lets write some Letters

Greetings Friends,

     Their Most Awesome and August Majesties, and Highnesses
 need to hear your words, as do the Baron and Baroness.
 There are many good Gentlefolk among us who need to be
 recognized for their goodly works. Lets write some
 Letters of Reccommendation!!
      It's EASY!! Here’s how. You can simply log onto
 www.antir.sca.org and click on Their Majesties,
 then Awards,then Recommend Someone for An Award.
 Please also CC it to Their Excellencies of the Barony of
 Wealdsmere, for there may be local awards
 that are appropriate.
       What to write??? It's easy!! They don't need to
 read about every little event the person has
 autocratted, or how many wars she has fought in, or
 how many award necklaces he has made. Briefly list
 the areas where this person excels. Tell Them how
 this person has served (he autocrats, cooks feasts,
 was our seneschal, helps people set up in the rain.)
	 Then, tell TRM how this person has impacted the
 SCA, and YOU. "The Shire would not have been able
 to conceive of bidding for that Crown event if X had
 not been here to guide us through the process." "I
 have learned so many skills from Y, that I truly
 feel inspired to go and teach them to others."
 Hopefully that gives you some ideas.
      You can talk to a Pelican about nominating someone
 for knighthood, or talk to a Knight about nominating
 someone for a Laurel. They are
 sure to help you get your letter to the right
 place.

      Finally, check out that website for some of the
 lesser known awards! You could recommend someone
 who excels in period persona development for a Carp.
 Or recommend someone who excels in great musical
 performances for a Sable Chime. War fighters with
 great prowess would be worthy of a Hasta Leonis.
 Children who contribute to the SCA are worthy of a Lion's Cub.
 There are many others!

Please write Letters for those you deem deserving!!!
