Well-met All,

In consultation with the Great Soothsayers of An Tir I bring news of Honor War.

1. The King and Queen will be in attendance.
2. The weather will be perfect.
3. Lyonsmarche A&S Championship Competition. The competition is being run by Lynn the Weaver, the current Lyonsmarche A&S Champion. Open to all arts and crafts. Documentation welcome but not required.
4. There will be a Firepit of the Giants, upon Friday evening there will be a great warbriefing and boasting competition (in the tradition of Beowulf) running concurrently. Upon Saturday evening there will be an informal Bardic once more at the mighty Firepit of the Giants where dreams live forever.
5. Rhys Cysgod ap Caerphilly squire to Baron Sir Devin Wolflin (in consultation with the fighters of Lyonsmarche) has crafted a bloody story and even bloodier battle scenarios. The action follows the story and it is Lyonsmarche's intention to memorialize the war in an epic poem.

You can study the scenarios at http://honorwar.greathall.org/.

The story/scenarios include brigands ambushing knights and their squires traveling to free the Eastern Borderlands of lawlessness. Upon arrival in the East the Lawbringers find the Brigands held up in a mott and bailey fortification. The Brigands have captured a number of lawbringer knights and hold them in a dungeon. The King and His Lawbringers attempt a daring rescue through a secret tunnel while simultaneously assaulting the main gate. Eventually, the Brigands are overwhelmed and escape out into the countryside. The King sends parties out to find and dispatch the remaining Brigands only to discover that the Brigands are far from defeated and cleverly seeking to destroy the Lawbringers. The seemingly boundless brigands challenge the King upon the open battlefield. The desperate battle rages on until the Brigands are cornered against the river's edge. There, the final battle is engaged. Heroes emerge and heroes are felled. Have the Brigands deceived the Lawbringers and caught them in a trap, or will the King and His Lawbringers drive the Brigands into a watery graver at river's edge? This is the poem to be forged -- will your blows shape this Kingdom -- will your name be etched in its bloodgrooves?

Mark your calendars for April 20-22nd and prepare for battles fierce. An Age of Heroes or of Darkness begins there...
